Weigh Data Fish Grader Introduction

The WeighData Grader is used in fish factories where high-speed sorting of fish is a requirement for acceptable throughput. It’s function is to sort fish according to a set of weight ranges, sorting up to 255 fish per minute.

The Grader is a robust unit built from high quality food grade material using the latest military specification electronics for process control. Each grader is custom built to user specification and is easy to maintain, with standard off the shelf spares available in most countries.

Process

In-feed Section:
Fish are fed onto the in-feed section where they are conveyed to the weighing section. It’s function is to stabilize fish motion where the relative velocity of fish and belt correspond.

Weighing Section:
Fish are fed onto the weighing section from the in-feed. Photo-electrical sensors determine the position of the fish at the given time. It’s function is to convey fish over a platform supported with load cells to determine weight.

Grading Section:
Fish are transported on a conveyor belt down the grading line. It’s function is to guide fish using a sorting gate and holding bin. The data acquired in the weighing section determines which sorting gate will open. Water jets are used to guide the fish to the gates. Photo- electrical sensors determine the position of the fish at any given time.
